Twice chosen as one of Writer’s Digest Magazine’s Best Website for Writers. Vermont-grown. Grateful Conversations is a portrait of a group of female poets from California, who come together each month to hone their craft and share their verse.       The last book of poetry I read with deep interest was Jay Bernard’s Surge, which reckons not just with history but also literary tradition to call attention to the recursivity of social violence/ anti-black racism in the Bernard’s hands, form and narrative are melded to produce a truly political poetry (in every sense of the political)! There is much to be garnished here and this book, undoubtedly, has increased my knowledge, appreciation, and toolkit of poetry. I think that it is a great book for poets at all stages to remind, inform, and reinforce the rules of craft that are described, and detailed, here. 5 stars- well worth it. ()/5(7).

As she discusses her craft in great detail, she gives special attention to diction, line lengths, versification, and choice of subject matter. Students of American culture and readers of American poetry will be delighted by this collection of the personal views of one of the century's best poets. URSULA K. LE GUIN published twenty-one novels, eleven volumes of short stories, four collections of essays, twelve books for children, six volumes of poetry and four of translation, and has received the Hugo, Nebula, Endeavor, Locus, Tiptree, Sturgeon, PEN/Malamud, and National Book awards and the Pushcart and Janet Heidinger Kafka prizes, among others.
